AIT
The Advanced Intelligent Tape is a technology using a rotating head of 8 mm to read the tape in a helical fashion. The strength of this technique is the low web tension, resulting in less wear and increased reliability of the head and the tape. The AIT uses AME tapes without metal particles and carbon coated. This is historically the first drive belt equipped with a memory device on cassette (MIC), to accelerate access to files.

DAT
The solution is a digital audiotape digital magnetic tape originally developed for audio recording. The DAT format also uses a helical reading.
